This Is The Place Heritage Park invites the Rose Park Community to be part of the 2008 season of fun. Events for June and July include:
June 14th—Flag Celebration Day along with Fort Douglas celebrate the US Military
July 4th-July5th– Liberty Days mini rodeo, relay races, old-time baseball game and more.
July 12th Family Fun Day– the park is free today
July 24th-26th Pioneer Heritage Days—games, parade, and watermelon eating contest.

Crime Report
During April 2008 the overall count of reported crimes from our community went up by 12 incidents. Specifically, it went up for auto thefts to 15, burglary went from 14 to 6, car prowls from 4 to 10, and damaged property reports went from 23 to 26, this number includes damage to businesses, homes, cars and graffiti damage.
Information is available on how you can be more involved in our community crime prevention through our Neighborhood Watch and Mobile Watch Programs. If you have already established a neighborhood watch effort for your street, please let us know and we will add you to our list of ‘watched’ neighborhoods.

Hazardous Waste Collection
On the fourth Thursday of the month, April through September, 7-10 am, the Salt Lake Valley Health Department will be holding a household hazardous waste community collection at Sugarhouse Park, by the Garden Center, 2100 S 1602 E ( NE corner of the park, West of Highland HS)
As usual , the event will accept waste from your home , including but not limited to waste oil, gas, antifreeze, pesticides, transmission fluid, batteries, fluorescent light tubes, and paint. There is no charge for you to have these and other chemicals properly dispose of at the event
