If you do not feel able to take care of a home garden, join us in the Community Garden once or twice a week and take home the veggies that are ready for harvest. Everyone is welcome.

Item 6 Crime Report
Each month the Salt Lake City Police department prepares a report of all Community Council areas. You can locate this report on the Salt Lake City Police web site by going to: slcgov.com/police/crimestats/crimestatshome.htm
During March 2008 the overall count of reported crimes for our community went up by 9 incidents. Specifically it went down for auto thefts to 6 (this includes 3 cars that were found in are area but necessarily stolen from it), burglary went from 4 to 14, damaged property reports went from 10 to 21. This number includes damage to businesses, homes, cars and graffiti damage. Other areas may have dropped or added one or two reported incidents.
We watch these reports and take note of the areas where they are occurring. You can do the same by coming to our meetings and getting a copy of these reports or by going on line. It is important to stay current on the things happening in our area and to be watchful in your neighborhoods. More information will be coming to you shortly on how to be more involved in our community crime prevention through our Neighborhood Watch program and Mobil Watch. Attend our May Community Council meeting and learn about Lock Bumping.
Item 7
“Blueprint Jordan River”
Mayor Becker is inviting everyone to become involved in some workshop meetings concerning the master plan development for the Jordan River. All 15 municipalities and three counties along the river are participating. There will be a meeting at the Day Riverside Library on Thursday, May 8th at 6:00 p.m.
You are asked to RSVP to Mary at 801-303-1459 or mdavies@envisionutah.org by the day before the workshop so sufficient materials and refreshments can be planned. If you are unable to attend the workshop but still want to share your opinion, please go to www.blueprint.slco.org starting May 1st to complete the same survey that will be used at the workshop.
