Yard Waste Recycling
Salt Lake City’s new Yard Waste Recycling program begins Monday, March 3, 2008. This
recycling program easily diverts resident’s grass clippings, trimmings, branches, bushes, and other yard
waste from the landfill into useable compost. Residents place all yard waste into the new tan 90 gallon
yard waste containers and roll it curbside to be emptied weekly on their regular scheduled garbage day.
Salt Lake City delivers the yard waste to the Salt Lake Composting Facility where it is turned into
compost and made available for purchase.
“We are happy to provide this environmental program,” Streets Manager, Parviz Rokhva says,
“Subscription has already surpassed our original expectations and we hope to see continued growth
with more residents taking advantage of this program.”

monthly sanitation fees.
