Information Items
- Four of the committee attended the UTA open house on TRAX held in October. Several issueswere raised concerning the routing of this line. Since then other questions have surfaced about the routing if buses in our area. We have invited representatives from UTA to discuss these. Items to be discussed are: stop improvements; more frequent service at peak hours; end of line location ; affect of Trax on local bus routes.
- The chair of the council has asked to be released effective at the end of this month. Personal reasons are given. The board has granted this release and wishes to inform you that the new chair of the Rose Park Community Council will be Ron Jarrett.
- The crime report for October reads: 1 aggravated assault, 11 auto thefts, 7 burglaries, 9 car prowls, 4 gang related prowls, 2 robberies, 2 car strips and 2 sex assaults. The total for Rose Park was 38. Citywide there 891 such crimes committed–our share was 4% of those crimes, placing us 10th out of 14 major councils.
- We have begun planning the Rose Park 4th Annual Festival. Please keep this activity in mind and plan on being a part of it. Our university co-chair, Luke Garrett, was just elected to the City Council.
- City code requires sidewalks to be shoveled within 24 hours of a snowstrom. Street cleaning is often hampered by cars left on the streets overnight. The city snow removal crews aer asking residents to park on laternating sides of the streets, realizing the difficulty of parking in small dr
