Newman News-October 22

 Red Ribbon Week October 22-26th

Every year in October in schools all over America students, teachers and parents come together to celebrate Red Ribbon Week. The mission of the Red Ribbon Campaign is to present a unified and visible commitment toward the creation of a Drug-Free America. The PTA has purchased items for the students to receive this week, starting with bracelets on Monday. Students who wear their bracelets all week at school will be entered into a drawing for prizes. All students are encouraged to wear red on Friday in celebration!

October 31, 2007

We will have our annual costume parade on Wednesday, October 31 at 9:00 a.m. The students will begin the parade by exiting the school in back, go north on Catherine, east on Dupont, south on Colorado to the main school driveway and back into the school. Students are reminded to follow these guidelines in planning their costumes:

  • Masks, if used, are allowed only during the parade.

  • Face make-up may be used.

  • Costumes should be modest and safe to wear.

  • No weapons or fake weapons are allowed.

  • Please avoid excessive gore.

October 31 is a short day. School will end at 12:40 and there will be no After-School Program.
