You are wanted. Mobile Watch wants and needs you to help watch out for crime. You are asked for 3 hours per month but the great good that you will do will be immeasurable in crime prevention. Please help. Call Tammie at 532-1024. We also would like you to organize a Neighborhood Watch Group on your street. It is an application of the Golden Rule to your street. To begin, call Sgt. Ross, SLCPD.
-
We have received a number of questions about illegal parking as well as changing the parking strip from grass to rocks . We have also been asked about some zoning issues. Carol Gent and Linda Goddard are our our enforcement officers and will be present at this meeting to respond.
-
The Urban Forester, Bill Rutherford, has announced a new program concerning trees on your lot. They are now planting smaller trees in parking strips. One year later you can request a larger tree be planted six feet in from the sidewalk. In either case, you have to sign an agreement stating that the tree belongs to the city, but you will care for it.
-
The crime report for September showed 1 aggravated assault, 2 car strips, 11 auto thefts, 7 burglaries, 9 car prowls, 4 gang related, 1 arson, and 2 sexual assaults. We have a new contact officer. His name is Detective David Wierman, telephone number is 799-3312.
-
We have received a request for zoning change improving the lots to the north of the Common Cents gas station on 700 North and Redwood Road. The developer wants to place a Mexican grocery store on that site. It will be discussed at this meeting. This was proposed some time ago and it was rejected on the grounds that we already have enough. Please be present.

Red Ribbon Week October 22-26th
Every year in October in schools all over America students, teachers and parents come together to celebrate Red Ribbon Week. The mission of the Red Ribbon Campaign is to present a unified and visible commitment toward the creation of a Drug-Free America. The PTA has purchased items for the students to receive this week, starting with bracelets on Monday. Students who wear their bracelets all week at school will be entered into a drawing for prizes. All students are encouraged to wear red on Friday in celebration!
Teacher Professional Convention Schedule
There will be no school on Monday/Tuesday, October 29-30. Friday and Wednesday, October 26 and 31 are short days with school dismissed at 12:40 and no after-school program those days.
October 31, 2007
We will have our annual costume parade on Wednesday, October 31 at 9:00 a.m. The students will begin the parade by exiting the school in back, go north on Catherine, east on Dupont, south on Colorado to the main school driveway and back into the school. We will parade in the building if it is raining. Parents are welcome to watch the parade along the parade route.
Students are reminded to follow these guidelines in planning their costumes:
-
Masks, if used, are allowed only during the parade.

Face make-up may be used.
-
Costumes should be modest and safe to wear.
