School Attendance Policy
Regular school attendance is required by law. Please make sure your student(s) attend every day and on time. The first bell rings at 8:05 am and the second bell at 8:10 am. All students are expected to be in their classrooms and ready to begin their day at 8:10 am.
When students com to school late, they create a distraction to the classroom and teacher. These interruptions take time away from the learning of others because of the need for the teacher to shift focus to the late student to repeat instructions. Please understand that the first 15 minutes of school are critical in setting the goals for that school day and mark the beginning of the academic component of the classes. Early releases from school are considered tardy/truant if a pattern of early releases is noted by staff. A note from the doctor/dentist is required if your student has a medical appointment requiring early release.
If problems with a tardy/early release student continues, the attendance mediation will be initiated to confront the problem.
Thanks for your cooperation.
